  1. This already exists.

Openning up Government Contracting requires MUCH more than a web site.

    The real problem is

    1) Government procuring managers have no P+L responsibility (no profit)
    2) Government procurement rules are designed to provide fairness rather than to get the best product

  2. Much of it is already on line. See GSA.gov

  3. I don't quite understand how this would work. If you mean to do this for gov. contracts, I am all for it. But to find gov. employment? I would find this absurd.

It needs to be opened up to allow those that may not be government apporved can still offer the services needed to make what needs to happen, happen.

I've avoided government contracting, but I've been very exposed to it via my reserve experience. It is a mess of cronyism, under-the-table deals, and genuine ripoffs that needs to be fixed. Opening it up with a public interface will improve innovation, and get money out of the hands of the mega-contracting corporations into small businesses. SBIR projects were intended to do this, but failed.
